WINTER 2021 UPDATE
CURRENT OPEN PLAY OCCUPANCY. Our 8500 square feet facility typically has an occupancy limit of 250 adults and children. As advised by the Summit County Health Department we are currently limiting capacity to 45 adults, children, and infants. This lower capacity will allow for social distancing among our patrons. While you may walk-in without a reservation, if we are at capacity, you will be turned away. It is highly advised that all customers purchase their 3 hours Open Play session ahead of time to guarantee admission. We also encourage all customers to fill out our new waiver prior to their visit.
Children 10 and under do not have to wear a mask at Cafe O’Play. Everyone 11 and older must wear a mask at all times. Appropriate mask wearing must be maintained by all. Guests not complying with appropriate mask wearing will be asked to leave. We are not accepting any medical or otherwise exceptions to this policy. If you are not able to wear a mask, please do not come to Cafe O’Play. This policy covers all Open Play, Birthday Parties, Private Birthday Parties, Facility Rentals, and Private Playdates at Cafe O’Play.
PARTY CHANGES. In order to provide as safe a work environment for our employees and our customers as we can, we are reducing the capacity in our Party Room to 10 adults and and kids during Open Play hours. Because of this, we will only offer our Mini Party Package during Open Play hours. The other party option will be a Private Super Party which will have a maximum of 25 allowed guests, adults and kids. These parties will have exclusive use of the facility during non-Open Play times. For the time being we are not offering our Super Family Celebration Package nor are we offering full Facility Rentals. These larger parties and events bring together more people from a variety of households and this needs to be avoided during these times of elevated risk levels. Please see our Party Planning guide for more information.
FUN, CLEAN AND SAFE. As all have been aware, the presence of the Coronavirus in society in 2020 has necessitated a radical change in public interaction in a short time. Our business was ordered closed on March 21st under orders from the Ohio Department of Health. We reopened on Wednesday June 17th. During this closure we invested heavily in updating our facility. We installed a state of the art automatic handwashing station, installed air purifiers in our rooftop HVAC units, reupholstered about 70% of our play structure, treated our facility with Microshield 360, installed Step N’Pull openers throughout, created new sanitation and more.
NEW VIDEO. We are putting in place as many safeguards as feasible in order to protect our customers and staff. We’ve put together a new video that details our new procedures for checkin and having a safe and enjoyable visit. Please watch this video before you arrive at Cafe O’Play.
Besides these new play guidelines, we have added a number of new services. Open Play Reservations, Mobile Food Ordering, Private Playdates and more. Click on the boxes below to learn more about each of these new services.
Parties are our specialty! We take care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy the festivities. Our enthusiastic PARTY HEROES will do more than provide you with your food order, private room, and time to play. They will lead customized games and creative play, keeping kids engaged through the whole event. They will make sure the celebration truly revolves around the person who matters most that day: your child.
Services & Safeguards
Open Play Reservations
To help us best manage our new capacity levels of less than 50%, we prefer our customers to now book their three-hour Open Play sessions online prior to their arrival. This will allow us to gauge how many people are coming and whether or not we can allow walk-ins.
This is a new play offering for us and we have designed it specifically in response to COVID-19. Do you have your own “social bubble”; a group of friends and their kids whom you are comfortable hanging out with? Then consider coming to Cafe O’Play for some clean, indoor, family fun.
Private Playdates are two hours in length and cost $200. During this time you and your group have exclusive use of Cafe O’Play. Capacity for these playdates is 20 people and this includes adults, kids, and babies.
Right now, Private Playdates can be scheduled all day Sunday, Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesday or Thursday evenings.
Due to our strict cleaning schedules, no one is allowed into Cafe O’Play before the start time, and everyone must leave promptly at the end time. This will allow us to clean extensively between playdates and parties. No outside food or beverages are allowed during Playdates. Our cafe will be open for full service.
You are welcome to use the Playdate as a birthday celebration for your youngster and their friends. However, no outside food or decorations may be brought in and our staff will not provide our award winning birthday service. Any gifts brought in must remain wrapped or packaged and taken home. You may purchase our cupcakes for singing happy birthday.
All attendees must be healthy with no fever over 100.0, difficulty breathing, or cough in the last 24 hours. Waivers must be signed for all adults and children attending.
NEW OFFERING: CHARACTER PLAYDATES. We know that many families are looking to make this time of year a special experience for their kids. Yet the pandemic is making that more and more difficult. We’ve now partnered with Party People LLC and will be offering special CHARACTER PLAYDATES through the holidays and beyond. These are 2hr sessions at Cafe O’Play where when you and up to 20 adults and kids have exclusive use of the facility AND a special visit from a character of your choice. Characters will come for 1 hr of active play, pictures, and fun. Characters include superheroes, princesses, and special holiday characters like Buddy the Elf and Santa. Click here to see the complete list of available characters. Typical cost for a CHARACTER PLAYDATE with a disney princess or superhero type character is $300.
Mobile Food Ordering
In order to provide safety and convenience for caregivers, our Cafe Menu will now be available via your mobile devices. This way, customers can order drinks and food while still present to their children anywhere in the facility. Staff will receive a receipt of this order, assemble it for the customer, and send the customer a text and order # when it is ready.

Second Eye Service
This service must be purchased along with an Open Play Session. This service is designed for parents whose children are ages 3 through 10. The Second Eye Service offers dedicated staff supervision of a child in the Play Area for an hourly rate of $12.95. Parents/Caregivers can work remotely, visit with friends, or catch up on projects while their children are more directly supervised by our staff. This service may also be helpful to a Grandparent caregiver who might be challenged keeping up with an active child. This service is based upon staff availability which will be confirmed prior to your visit. When checking out your desired Open Play Session you will have the option to choose a Second Eye Service.
As most facilities like ours do, we will require all guests to sign a waiver. You can fill out your waiver online or at the Cafe. A parent or guardian must complete the waiver and add all children and other adults or caregivers in the family to their waiver.
Other Reopening Information
In addition to the new services and safeguards discussed in the preceding section, Cafe O’Play has an extensive plan of revised policies and procedures regarding the “reopening” of our business to the public following the recent COVID-19 crisis. We encourage you to learn more about our reopening plan as it pertains to each of the following areas:
