New Services for Changing Times
As all have been aware, the presence of the Coronavirus in society in 2020 has necessitated a radical change in public interaction in a short time. Our business was ordered closed on March 21st under orders from the Ohio Department of Health. We reopened on Wednesday June 17th. During this closure we invested heavily in updating our facility. We installed a state of the art automatic handwashing station, installed air purifiers in our rooftop HVAC units, reupholstered about 70% of our play structure, treated our facility with Microshield 360, installed Step N’Pull openers throughout, created new sanitation and more.
We are putting in place as many safeguards as feasible in order to protect our customers and staff. We’ve put together a new video that details our new procedures for checkin and having a safe and enjoyable visit. Please watch this video before you arrive at Cafe O’Play.
Besides these new play guidelines, we have added a number of new services. Open Play Reservations, Work With Care, Private Playdates and more. Click on the boxes below to learn more about each of these new services.
Parties are our specialty! We take care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy the festivities. Our enthusiastic PARTY HEROES will do more than provide you with your food order, private room, and time to play. They will lead customized games and creative play, keeping kids engaged through the whole event. They will make sure the celebration truly revolves around the person who matters most that day: your child.
Services & Safeguards
Open Play Reservations
To help us best manage our new capacity levels of less than 50%, we prefer our customers to now book their three-hour Open Play sessions online prior to their arrival. This will allow us to gauge how many people are coming and whether or not we can allow walk-ins.
Work With Care Service
As much of our nation has moved to working at home for safety reasons, we are anticipating that this trend will continue. After studying other models we are excited to be able to offer co-working with child care which we are calling Work With Care. Click here to watch a short YouTube video on this new service.
This service will include:
The ability to book online a 2 hour session during which our staff will care for the little ones, ages 8 months to 47 months. This will be available during the weekdays we are open.
Parents will need to remain on site in the Cafe, but can make calls or work on projects that require their complete focus.
Our party rooms are the dedicated space for child care and are furnished with all necessary items for this service.
Staff will be using this time for enrichment with each child. We will have a low teacher to child ratio, 3:1 for 8-18 month olds and 4:1 for 19-47 month olds.
- All staff have passed FBI and State of Ohio background checks and are first aid and CPR certified.
We have also invested in a ROOM Booth, which is a soundproof phone booth within which customers will be able to make calls or do video conferencing confidentially.
- Reservations are now being accepted.

This is a new play offering for us and we have designed it specifically in response to COVID-19. Do you have your own “social bubble”; a group of friends and their kids whom you are comfortable hanging out with? Then consider coming to Cafe O’Play for some clean, indoor, family fun.
Private Playdates will be two hours in length and will cost $200. During this time you and your group will have exclusive use of Cafe O’Play. Capacity for these playdates is 30 people and this includes adults, kids, and babies.
Right now, Private Playdates can be scheduled all day Sunday, Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesday or Thursday evenings.
Due to our strict cleaning schedules, no one will be allowed into Cafe O’Play before the start time, and everyone must leave promptly at the end time. This will allow us to clean extensively between playdates and parties. No outside food or beverages are allowed during Playdates. Our cafe will be open for full service.
You are welcome to use the Playdate as a birthday celebration for your youngster and their friends. However, no outside food or decorations may be brought in and our staff will not provide our award winning birthday service. Any gifts brought in must remain wrapped or packaged and taken home. You may purchase our cupcakes for singing happy birthday.
All attendees must be healthy with no fever over 100.0, difficulty breathing, or cough in the last 24 hours. Waivers must be signed for all adults and children attending.
Mobile Food Ordering
In order to provide safety and convenience for caregivers, our Cafe Menu will now be available via your mobile devices. This way, customers can order drinks and food while still present to their children anywhere in the facility. Staff will receive a receipt of this order, assemble it for the customer, and send the customer a text and order # when it is ready.

As we anticipate lower numbers of guests, we will be providing benefits to those who choose our new membership option. Our Memberships will be monthly auto-draws and will offer unlimited weekday visits, discounts on other sales and services, and periodic, exclusive “Members Only” special events.
THIS NEW SERVICE IS STILL BEING WORKED OUT.
Second Eye Service
This service must be purchased along with an Open Play Session. This service is designed for parents whose children are ages 3 through 10. The Second Eye Service offers dedicated staff supervision of a child in the Play Area for an hourly rate of $12.95. Parents/Caregivers can work remotely, visit with friends, or catch up on projects while their children are more directly supervised by our staff. This service may also be helpful to a Grandparent caregiver who might be challenged keeping up with an active child. This service is based upon staff availability which will be confirmed prior to your visit. When checking out your desired Open Play Session you will have the option to choose a Second Eye Service.
As most facilities like ours do, we will require all guests to sign a waiver. You can fill out your waiver online or at the Cafe. A parent or guardian must complete the waiver and add all children and other adults or caregivers in the family to their waiver.
Other Reopening Information
In addition to the new services and safeguards discussed in the preceding section, Cafe O’Play has an extensive plan of revised policies and procedures regarding the “reopening” of our business to the public following the recent COVID-19 crisis. We encourage you to learn more about our reopening plan as it pertains to each of the following areas:
