BE THE REASON! Foster Care and Adoption Information Meeting. Thursday January 16th, 6:00pm – 7:00pm. More than 800 children are in the custody of Summit County Children Services and there are only around 155 foster homes. Summit County Children Services (SCCS) will host this free event where area residents who attend will learn a variety of details about foster care and adoption, including how long the process is, what kind of support is provided by the agency, and the minimal costs involved with adopting a child through a public agency such as Summit County Children Services. Agency staff will share basic information about the children who need foster or adoptive homes. This event is free and open to the entire community and reservations are not needed.
